Introducing… ‘Enlighten’

The word ‘newsletter’ for me, resonates with the likes of school newsletters, and other compulsory platforms – basically, a newsletter doesn’t excite me.  They [newsletters] are informative of ‘must know’ dates and details in order to remain on top of things. The same can be said for ‘bulletins’. So when I was trying to name my ‘non’-newsletter, I decided that with my content and storytelling, I wanted to Enlighten my readers. Enlighten them by their own choice of whether they want to read my words [or not] – not because they might forget an important date like a pupil free day and accidentally send their child to school. Other than ‘Blog-tober’, where I blogged daily for the entire month [in order to raise awareness for young breast cancer], I have blogged quite sporadically. This is fine with me; I don’t have a huge following that expects to hear from me five times a week […yet]. For me though, I like consistency, yet life doesn’t always allow for that. By delivering a monthly e-magazine, I will be …

What is a ‘Copywriter’?

You’ve heard of and seen the word ‘COPYRIGHT’ – So, what is a ‘COPYWRITER’ It’s obvious when breaking down the two words that the key difference is ‘right’ vs ‘write’…. Right? Copyright: Copyright is effectively the legal ‘right’ to the original work of the inventor, maker or designer. i.e. an author’s work, a musician’s music, an artists artwork etc. Copyright is the protection of intellectual property, so in a nutshell it is the creator’s exclusive legal right to their own work. So what does a copyrighter do? They secure the above rights. I am not a copyrighter. ………………………………………………. Copywriting/copywriter: I can tell you that the term initially confused me… the easiest way to understand what a copywriter does is to break down the words and swap the order… >>>>> Write Copy That’s it and that’s the simplest way to understand the difference. A copywriter, writes copy or content (generally for business, marketing and advertising purposes). From there, you will find lots of different copywriters with distinctive styles, skillsets and varying niches. You can read more …

I love corporate storytelling…

Let me tell you why I became a copywriter, why I love it, and why you need to consider your content and brand storytelling strategy. I wanted to turn my passion into a career and this is where ‘becbraid COPYWRITING’ was designed and born. I’ve learnt during my lifetime that not everyone can find the right words – personally, professionally or both. Having completed a fair share of professional writing within the financial planning sector and community based projects (as well as writing personally for as long as I can remember), I decided, “Why couldn’t I mix business with pleasure?” After facing adversity with my health (Breast Cancer in June 2014), I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do with regard to a career and finding a niche to feed my ambition. Nothing will fire you up more than simply wanting to be here, being grateful is an incredibly stimulating quality to have. It brings an onslaught of big dreams and an appetite to succeed – “No time to waste time” I …

Getting a little excited…

Yayyyy, yayyy, yayyyy!! Things are coming together and tomorrow I am having a photo shoot for my ‘coming soon’ business. Props ready, outfits ready… I think?! I’ve had some beautiful friends who have helped me prepare for my upcoming launch through their own creative talents and businesses – there are some pretty savvy and fabulous gals in this town. Not to mention support in general from some great friends and some new friends. Deciding to start a business is something that I have thought about for quite some time. Then… one day, the penny dropped and I just thought…. YES! Now is the time. I’ve been working on my business start-up and development for months now, not a day goes by that I don’t have small moments of doubt… momentarily that is… then I suck it up and realise that nothing comes easy and nothing propels you forward more than a little fear or discomfort. Push those boundaries peeps! Believe! My experience with business thus far… has come from two facets. Firstly, when I worked …
