Gratitude

How awesome is gratitude… Often, in today’s society we are quick to judge, we are quick to critisise and often, we don’t stop to appreciate the good things people do. I just recently sent one of my counselling educators an email containing some positive gratitude. They spend soooooo long providing feedback about assignments or answering questions etc. And when I get a really engaging teacher, a teacher I can truly learn from and be guided by, it makes my study experience so much more enriching (particularly with online study). They also stand out like a light bulb as a ‘favourite’ teacher. I felt grateful and so I thanked her. Yes, she’s employed to do so, yes, she gets paid to do so… but this attitude just stirs the pot on too much ‘entitlement’ (in my opinion). She was genuinely so appreciative saying she vary rarely receives feedback… so a few minutes of my time brightened her day and probably created a smile within that made all her hard work worthwhile. What is a ‘Copywriter’?

You’ve heard of and seen the word ‘COPYRIGHT’ – So, what is a ‘COPYWRITER’ It’s obvious when breaking down the two words that the key difference is ‘right’ vs ‘write’…. Right? Copyright: Copyright is effectively the legal ‘right’ to the original work of the inventor, maker or designer. i.e. an author’s work, a musician’s music, an artists artwork etc. Copyright is the protection of intellectual property, so in a nutshell it is the creator’s exclusive legal right to their own work. I love corporate storytelling…

Let me tell you why I became a copywriter, why I love it, and why you need to consider your content and brand storytelling strategy. I wanted to turn my passion into a career and this is where ‘becbraid COPYWRITING’ was designed and born. I’ve learnt during my lifetime that not everyone can find the right words – personally, professionally or both. Having completed a fair share of professional writing within the financial planning sector and community based projects (as well as writing personally for as long as I can remember), I decided, “Why couldn’t I mix business with pleasure?” After facing adversity with my health (Breast Cancer in June 2014), I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do with regard to a career and finding a niche to feed my ambition.
